The key is the proper proportion of cotton and polyester.

The simplest way to identify pure cotton and polyester-cotton ribbons is to take the cut-off yarn and burn it. If there is a hard block, it is polyester-cotton yarn containing polyester. If it is all ashes, it is authentic pure cotton.
